Mathematics Department

Visitation students participate in a spiraling math curriculum beginning in their Kindergarten year. The textbooks used are from Saxon. The curriculum is designed to foster math practice and understanding. Both homework and assessments provide students with the opportunity to continuously practice all content covered throughout the course of the school year. This process constantly reinforces expected skills and leads to mastery.

Students in 8th grade will take Algebra I. There are two courses offered. One is a regularly-paced course in which a student will explore all topics in the given year. The other is an accelerated Algebra class. In this advanced course, students will complete the course in the first two trimesters. In the final trimester, high school Geometry concepts will be explored.
